Relaxing Early Morning Tasks At The Wilderness Cabin.
A friend of mine loosens both screws, and then tightens the bigger one that holds the spring all the way down, as it is the actual adjustment screw. He does trigger pulls while loosening the adjustment screw until the hammer starts to bounce back a little off the firing pin. At that point, he carefully tightens the adjustment screw until the hammer bounce is just barely eliminated. Then, he tightens the smaller set screw until it bottoms out on the hammers leaf spring, the plus 1/8 turn. With a new stock sping this gives a nice 4.5lb trigger. He makes sure the action springs are tightened all the way, so it's harder to short stroke the action. He says if you just use the small set screw for adjustment of tension, you may inadvertently bend an s-curve into your spring, making it feel weird. I took his advice, and it works for me. These old guns are fun.
My father has been having trouble with deer eating some of his privacy bushes. We ended up growing Carolina Reapers and Ghost peppers. We smashed them up and soaked them in water. The water was then sprayed on the bushes and surrounding area. Try this in the areas where the rodents are eating your insulation. Do NOT apply this in areas you will be touching with your bare hands, such as the inside of your cabin.
Nice chair! I've done up quite a few pieces of antique furniture over the years. I've used both boiled linseed oil and/ or Danish oil on furniture a fair bit. With either of those, you'll want to do several coats for best results, and once it has dried you really want to add some furniture wax over the top. Beeswax based ones are great.
Awesome video
Good video been waiting
If the weather isn't great, I won't risk damaging the equipment.
I've done all my wood splitting with a 2 bit axe. I wouldn't have it any other way.
Mine isn't super heavy but still works 👍
Always a pleasure watching your videos my friend!
Thanks man!
Are you getting over a cold or something. Mice are always a problem aren’t the little buggers. New rocker is nice.
Where the mice chewed thru and got into the insulation, I've heard from a number of people that the mice and bugs will chew thru foam insulation also. I'm guessing that if you used some mortar mix they'd all leave that alone and it may help reduce the areas where they invade your cabin. Just sharing a thought... Nice video and a really like the way you salvaged the old rocking chair and are bringing it back to life and use again.
keep up the good work, it;s tough to do your self !
👍
Danish Oil isn't meant to restore old wood. Its a finish that protects from future wear. Check out Howard's Feed and Wax, which restores and nourishes wood.
@@tberkoff good enough for me, don't wan tto restore it. Like I said, blo would of been better but did have any 😔
I was going to suggest soaking epoxy into the chair. It looks worth preserving.
@@ricka.a. It's a nice chair but Il try to keep an eye on wear 😬
do you mean the heavy wire was sucking up alot of juice?
For what
@@northernwoodsman sometimes wire that is too heavy slows down the current
@@larryshaver3568 no, it's just that my lights are too powerful for what I have.
Another good little video. Thanks for posting. I enjoyed watching!
Try bees wax
What kind of tank fits on this?
@@kellymagaudda4394 pretty much any camping butane tank. Not propane
You have a nice little cabin thanks for sharing
@@cabinlife4551 thanks for watching 😁

@@briannagorman3119 that k you. Glad you enjoyed 😁👍
Nice job with the extension of the roof 👍 Question since was a big hole mouse/squirrel did could you put a rock instead of woolen to fill the hole & cover with your stuff ?
Great video 👍

@@wendyshick6689 always nice to be there. 😁👌
Glad you were able to improve your cabin's roof! Next up, the treehouse roof!
@@macavitymacavity yeah, il try that but I'm not sure I have enough tin left sadly

I think you have enough subscribers for either a "Thanks" button or a membership/Patreon link. We would appreciate being able to support you! At a minimum, post your PayPal or BuyMeACoffee link!
@@KissedSomeFrogs thanks! Appreciate it, I'm not sure I have enough traffic but Il look into it. RUclips changed the algorithm this year I believe, it hurts creators with subscribers that don't watch the content. RUclips does not promote the channels with alot of subscribers that get a small percentage of views. So it just makes it hard to Grow
I love the cabin! I wish I had the opportunity to make something as cool!
@@KissedSomeFrogs anything is possible 😁
Very good idea fixing the mouse hole
@@leroypittenger6512 thanks :)
Very neat trick!
That hot glue actually makes a bigger mess in the barrels than a plastic wad will. I cleaned a lot of melted plastic glue out of my barrels trying your method. I’ve roll crimped since.
Those are expensive cases to mess up. If you gently run them through your sizing die, just enough to reduce the bulge and chamber them, they should fire form out nicely. They won’t last as long as an undamaged case because of the wrinkling and work hardening. Lee factory crimp dies are great. I use them on 30 Rem for my Model 14. Their greatest virtue is they force you to crimp in a separate step from seating as we did for many decades with conventional roll crimp seating dies. Don’t feel too bad about wrinkling that brass. 90% of reloaders admit to doing it and the other 10% are liars.
I need two of them asap

Nice video. Love the Barmah squashy hat! Also it's great to see you planting so many trees. Hope you get a good proportion of them surviving. Be good to see the progress.. But man...those mosquitoes make me itch just hearing them!

Nice video!

Man, I always get nervous when you use that treehouse ladder, lol Glad those new hinges worked! I hope you can get some tin up on that roof SOON (with the use of a safer ladder of course, lol).
Worst ladder ever. It's going to break one day
